Sarah Palin Considered Abortion

What's your reaction to Sarah Palin's disclosure that she briefly considered an abortion during her last pregnancy? Will her speech Thursday in Indiana help or hurt her political ambitions?

Sarah Palin is human.  A good percentage of women have considered abortion, including myself. She is the only one in government who truly signifys "change". I hope she runs in 2012. She's got my vote!

Yes...she is human, and has every right to feel that way, and make a decision like this.  However, a statement such as this one should not be made in public, where her son will one day grow up and read it.  She has every right to contemplate something like this and fugiure out, for heself, what she would choose to do.   However, you don't comment on this, situation where the child you are contemplating over, will have an opportunity to find out about it.  It will end up hurting him in the end.  Something like this, you just keep private.

I think Sarah Palin is authentic.  Considering the moral decline of our culture, I'm not surprised at all that she considered abortion.  I feel this will in no way affect her republican image.  I do not agree with abortion, but I do appreciate her truthfulness.  We need more truthful and honest people as leaders.  "The truth will set us free."

I am not surprised that the thought of an abortion crossed Sarah Palin's mind.   When you are told you will or might have a mentally challenged baby all kinds of wild thoughts would naturally race through your mind, things you would seriously consider and things you wouldn't consider.   That is the way the mind works in a crisis mode, but then your personal values and common sense take over and you make a serious decision.   There should be no question that Sarah Palin is anti abortion and dedicated to the pro life cause.   Her actions have proven that beyond any doubt.

Sarah Palin is human just as all of us are more or less. Some more, some less it seems lately. I cannot understand why the left hates her so much. She signifies to me everything I feel we need for our country. Honesty , forthrightness, experiance and courage. Being a women isn't bad right now either. If Obama can win the presidency with his crooked cronies why the $#@ can't a good person like Sarah win? Boggles my mind.

I too have been married for a long time . Had 4 kids. My fourth was unexpected and I remember contemplating an abortion. NOT having it was the best thing I have ever decided for myself and child. He is the most beautiful person imaginable. BUT< I do not and will not point my finger at another that decides that for themselves.

Gov. Palin, in disclosing that she has meaningful conflict within, has demonstrated that she is a rational thinking woman. After all, she has a family...career...ambition and more all which place demands on her. In being open to this discussion she has indicated that she is open to thought, but that she returns to her anchoring beliefs in response to her intellectual analysis.

As far as the impact of this on her political future, especially her 2012 options, this disclosure will allow the Right to Choice population to recognize her as a candidate who at least has thought through her stance under the stress related to her situation at the time. As a result there may be a slight shift from the Left for some center of the road voters.

Sarah Palin is human just like the rest of us.  Thank God she made the right choice!  If she hadn't many blessings would have passed her by.  In my opinion she is a Christian woman who walks the talk. She is strong and stands for what she believes, but still has the right to have feelings and make decisions, right or wrong.  It would be wonderful to have a woman of faith, good character, honesty and who has lived out the problems every one of us has had to live in one form or another.  She would make a wonderful leader for our country, which is now falling apart!!  I'm sure she would be successful.
