Great article, Stanley.

I hear that Riverwalk Golf Club is pretty good...

I think Coronado Muni is a great course for the money. Twilight is very afforadable too. If your a city resident Torrey Pines was a steal but they have jacked up the rates since the US Open was hosted there.

Torrey Pines has 36 holes.  If you're a poor player, avoid the Open course like the plague. Otherwise , let it rip, but bring your wallet.

I also have played Riverwalk...excellent daily fee course.  If you can pay the fee, by all means play Torry Pines...A truly championship layout, either course.  Another course i've played several times is Steel Canyon...a little pricey, but superb...I'ts semi-private and they treat you like a member.

Torry Pines... 2 great courses. They are public owned. Haved hosted many major tournaments. Call early for reservations.

Good luck!!
