Is Sam-e safe for my 4 year old?

My son—Paulie—will be 4 on September 8th. He has been diagnosed with benign external hydrocephalus which contributed to his being speech delayed in spite of being highly intelligent. His being speech delayed caused much frustration on all sides and in turn contributed to his behavioral issues. His speech has since improved but his behavioral issues of late have gotten worse. I believe that there is something else going on to cause this but that is a discussion for another day. (He is already seeing a psychologist) I believe that his earlier frustration ‘set a pattern’ that is, that he got used to acting out when frustrated. What I would like to do is give him some help coping with frustration and wonder if sam-e would be effective and—most importantly—safe?
