Not at all! the medications are really not enough to balance your blood pressure, you have to also change your nutrition, a big part of that is (sadly) avoiding salt. My husband was just diagnosed with high cholesterol and we have been starting eating healthier as a result. The big salt trap is actually not the salt we have on our counter, but hidden salt in different products - I started reading food labels more closely and it's just scary how much salt there is in product I didn't even associate with salty flavor (cookies, tomato sauce, canned corn and so on).
Sorry, I wish I had better news, but you have to mind your salt consumption while cooking and while eating out...
