Safe to drive my car after a big engine oil splash?

After adding a quart of oil, I inadvertently left the oil reservoir cap off and drove the car a couple of miles. By the time I discovered the problem, two quarts of oil had spurted all over under the hood. I've wiped up as much as possible and replaced the oil. There's still a lot of oil coating things under the hood. Is the car safe to drive, or do I have to take the car in for some kind of thorough under-the-hood cleaning?

Expect some white smoke when the engine heats, there should be no other problem apart from that. BUT only for extra safety and your peace of mind I would take the car to the garage and have the engine washed.

I'm not sure, but I think this smoke could be toxic. I agree, take it for a clean-up to be on the safe side.
