You probably can from the direct clicks on a link that you might post and also from backlinks as others have mentioned.
Another way is through free traffic programs if you're willing to do more then look for a free lunch. By that I mean... join them, post your links, surf other sites or do what they require so you build you web traffic. I've joined a few to see how they work and so far 2 of the 3 have done very well. The other one is a newer program and it's just getting off the ground so I'm waiting to see how well it goes here in a month or so.
