Do stretches help to prevent shin splints? I live in they city and have no other options except running on concrete pavement. How can I cope?
I'll search, while you wait.
Here are some coping options from active and webmd websites. However, coming from a person whom runs alot and develops shin splints quite often, it would behoove you to find a soft track. I know it's hard in the city. Try these exercises to prevent shin splints:

or try the advice from this website.

Hopefully, you won't wind up using crutches as I have, at times.

I know it isn't as fun, but a treadmill helps also.
Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks for your answers. I guess I'll have to change my route more frequently, and sadly, use the treadmill more than before.
