I am looking for the summary on the book "Race Rebels". What does Robin Kelley mean when he says" he wants to examine the working class history form " way ,way below"?
He's not looking for theory; he's looking for a book like Studs Terkel's "Working" or a modern day biography mimicking Dickens' 'Hard Times" or "Oliver Twist". Many of Steinbeck"s books were like that, as Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle"was only. No big shots for him, only the people who really did the work.
