Road Construction accuracy

I am wondering how accurate road construction is: If a road was planned to go through a very specific path on the map, what deviation would it be allowed to have (if any) on the terrain? A few millimeters? Centimeters?

That depends very very strongly on the country that you have in mind and the terrain, as well as the kind of road you are talking about! Do you mean paved roads? gravel? USA? Zimbabwe?
