Right infringement in the Translation Business

While translating a book from another language I check other translations of the book either to my language or to other languages to help me with my translation. I don't copy these other translations or passages from them, just consult them and see how they did things.

Am I infringing on their rights? Do I need to acknowledge the help I got from these translations or need to pay them royalties?
