The Town of Munster, located in Lake County, Indiana. On November 24th 2008 around 5:15AM, there was a report of a stolen vehicle from a gas station. The Police soon spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over. The vehicle saw police and speed up and a pursuit began. AS he went to turn down residential streets, he crashed into a phone booth in a parking lot, but was able to continue. He continued down a residential street, and after driving through some lawns, ditched the car and a foot pursuit began. The suspects fled from the car and ran behind the houses near businesses. The police were able to catch them in a fast food parking lot. Here is the official Police Report (SUMMARY ONLY!): AUTO THEFT SUSPECTS CAPTURED AFTER VEHICLE AND FOOT PURSUIT On Monday, November 24, 2008 at 5:14AM officers from the Munster Police Department were dispatched to Munster Marathon (9451 Calumet) in reference to a vehicle that had just been stolen from one of the gas pumps. The vehicle had been left running and unlocked. Officers located the vehicle on Calumet near Ridge and initiated a pursuit, observing the vehicle crash through a phone booth and drive through several yards in the 8000 Block of Jefferson before both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Charges are pending against the other suspect in this case.
