Should Rick Pitino resign as head coach of Louisville basketball?
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
What does his private life have to do with his professional life? I think he should stay on. In this article it says the following: "Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich said in a statement that "Coach Pitino has been truthful with us about this matter all along and we stand by him and his family during this process."

Think of the Louisville basketball program as a multi million dollar business with Pitino as a highly successful CEO and the stockholders (fans) are thrilled with his success. Along comes a woman with a allegation that's 6 years old and without proof. I'm not defending the guy's having an affair but that's between he and his wife. If everyone (men and women) having an affair were fired today the unemployment rates would go thru the roof.
I live in South Carolina and we're already dealing with the fallout from a guy who's having his own version of this situation. So unless and until Pitino is accused of some felony this should be handled as a private matter.
How can he not? Would any parent let him recruit and coach childern after this? He is a victim of his own poor choice. As a parent don't you want a man to teach your child to how to make the right life choices after he has done so poorly. I believe you can make a mistake and learn from it. I am not sure however that that person makes the best teacher. i would want a man that can teach how to avoid trouble not how to deal with it based on his own experience. That a child can learn from many more people who won't have such an impact as a head coach. Not a bad guy just maybe not a man who still deserves this kind of influence over so many young minds.
The man is paid to be a basketball coach. Because of his abilities as a coach, the University of Louisville makes a ton of money off its basketball program. That success allows the university to fund other sports for its students in less lucaritive activities. Pitino cheated on his wife and got caught. He in no way should lose his job because of this indiscrection. It's not like he used taxpayer money to go to Argentina or give the woman a job.
