Do you think the Florida Pantehrs should have continued the play against Buffalo Sabres after Richard Zednik was cut in the neck?
Wouldn't it have been better to forfeit the game?
Well, why in the world would you NOT finish the game? I don't see the benefit for anyone involved to forfeit.
I think they might have considered it at the very least. Not to mention that losing Zednik obviously effected the result of the game.
Forfeit? These are adults playing adult sports not some pee-wee kid that got a bump on his head and his hyper-protective soccermom felt that play was too rough for all the little boys/girls. By the way, they don't give trophies to everyone in real life either. Heal up Zed and get back on the ice.
It was more than a bump on the head. He left a trail of blood on the ice when leaving!
But yeah, I hope he gets better soon, and recover his surgery ASAP.
why would they stop the game.. it is an injury.. serious yes.. but, many players get injured and do not return to the game so saying to stop the game because it effects the outcome with Zednik not there.. that is obvious and part of the game.. There is no benefit to stopping the game as nobody but doctors are able to help the player at that point.. so again why would you want to stop play.. The entire question makes no sense.. It is scary what happend for sure.. reminds me of a similar incident years ago with another player Clint Malarchuk but, these accidents may happen. Hopefully Zednik heals well and can continue his hockey career but, if he cannot.. let us hope that he recovers his own health, the most important issue out of all of this.
