Rh negative factor in pregnancy

I just found out that I am five weeks pregnant.  Since I am RH negative I know I will need to get a Rhogam injection.  How soon should I get this injection?

Why do you know you will need a Rhogam injection? Is the male  positive? If so you may eventually need an injection--not necessarily. It isn't automatically so.  If you are  concerned, a phone call to a dr. or clinic would be the best place to get a medical answer. Do you know a nurse who works in a maternity field--hospital or doctor's office for a cheap bit of advice? My personal experience is what I am speaking from.

Hi, You will get your first dose of Rhogam at 28 weeks of gestation. Then after delivery of an RH positive baby, you'll be given the Rhogam injection within 72 hours after the birth of the baby. If the baby is RH negative like you, then you don't need the Rhogam injection.

If you have not been sensitized, you will be given an injection of Rh-immune globulin at about 28 weeks of pregnancy, and within 72 hours after a birth.
