I haven't heard anything about this, but if you're worried, speak with a customer representative of the company.

Hi, i'm a Hairstylist and I use Roux Young Color, I have not seen nor have I known of this product causing any damage to ethnic hair. I use the product after a relaxer and there is no damage done.  This product is excellent in covering grey!  My clients love it...I've used the product for 5 to 6 years and have never had any problems or complaints.  I highly recommend it for gray coverage, it stays on like a permanent haircolor!
