I moved to Boise, Idaho in August of 2007 from Lakewood, Colorado. I found out today that I will have to claim my teacher's retirement annuity "pension" from PERA in Colo. as income on my Idaho tax return. This has happened because PERA of Colo claimed I was a Colorado resident, rather than an Idaho resident. They have had all the forms to show I am a resident of Idaho, but my W2 came, as I said, with the box for residency marked as "Colorado." The tax bill for this is going to be over $3000, plus I have been told I will have to pay Idaho state taxes of $700, plus, also. HELP! Do I have an option for having the Colorado residency corrected to show my legal Idaho residency? (I was In Idaho all of 2008 ) Can a W2C be created to help me with my taxes at this late date?
