Here is a very lengthy article on your particular situation.

I have not yet retired, but often think about it and what I would do once I retire. Being the type of person that enjoys getting up and going to work and being productive I am sure that I will be the guy you see at Walmart greeting guests. Smile

Good luck and best wishes to you.

Thanks for the information provided. Here in new mexico finding younger workers seem to be problem. The problem that does exist is qualified and experienced. It drives me crazy going into a big box store and the employees know nothing about customer service or the products they sell. But that is a curse , I guess, after being trained by a good company. I wish you the best in your future decisions, and I hope we are not competing for the same job at wal mart.

10 thumbs up

yea i want to retire pretty soon but then again im not sure if i should, especially with rising costs for everything. that is why im trying to start my own business in my spare time, so that when i do retire, i can have something to do and a way of making extra money. i dont know if you have heard much about the dropshipping business but its basically buying stuff from wholesalers and selling it all on ebay. best of luck to ya.

I sell AVON, and had just signed up my grandma she's 83 yrs old!

She's already selling to her friends, and her bank teller, her dentist and she even took my best customer away from me (my mom) lol

It only costs $10 to start, and for you men!! I have a helper who's a guy in his 50's, I'm shocked how many ladies like to buy perfume from a gentlemen. Anyway if you want to learn more go to:

www.YourAvon.com/TLaPushner

P.S. I know a few people who retierd, and feel restless got into real estate, they took the class and the exam, I think  it all costs around $400, u might like that too.

Take care

Have you thought about being an independent consultant?  You have years of experience under your belt, and you're probably very valuable to a lot of companies in your industry.  You could still take advantage of the perks of retirement and probably make a higher hourly wage than you did when you were working.  You can always work with a company like MBO Partners, which would serve as an employer of record.  There are significant tax advantages to working with a company like that, and you can even shelter some of your income in a 401k, not to mention that they will invoice your clients and take care of collections on your behalf - meaning you spend less time on back-office management, worry only about getting clients and consulting, and spend the rest of your time enjoying your retirement.
