Replacing a defective HDMI Socket

I have a Hd Dvd player and the HDMI socket has a broken internal wire. Does anyone know how to replace an HDMI Socket? Thanks

The Best way is to draw 3 (three) different angles of the connections  & the wiring going to the HDMI SOCKET . Make sure that you label the color & type (copper, gold, silver, bear metal(shielded),plastic, rubber coded) of wire going to the connections.

Draw the connector facing left with # 1 wire on top
Draw the connector facing right with #1 wire on the bottom!!
Draw the connector with the pins facing UP
If the socket is rivated, u must drill out and replace with tiny or baby screw & bult.

Question: Are there any leads extending from HDMI socket to the PC board? That u can reach in and cut.? Can u get to the underside of ckt. board.? Are you able to DEsoder the connections from the board, itself.?

The best way ,without going under the circuit board is to snip\cut the connections JUST as they come out of the HDMI socket, [NOT @ THE BOARD SIDE OF THE CONNECTIONS] The reason: if you soder wires or another contact to the connections AWAY from the ckt. board, there is less of a chance that u are going to DEsoder the connections ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD!
You may be able to get the replacement HDMI socket and soder the contacts directly to the contacts that EXTEND out of the ckt.brd.

2nd.way=Take [DEsoder] out all the contacts ON THE BOARD, replace then with [color coded !!] wires and connect to new HDMI socket.

Good circuiting!! Buddy
