My new lacquer- painted kitchen cabinets started cracking at the seams within two or three months of installation. A bit later, the paint also began peeling and lifting in a few places, showing the bare wood. The chip revealed a white primer stuck to the yellow top coat. My contractor says he will come in and respray the entire kitchen, but I have lost confidence in him as he could not satisfactorily explain why the problems in the first place. He said that wood moves and that some moisture had caused the other problems. I am a senior and have been very careful with the cabinets. I am not a perfectionist. Could the problem areas be repaired without painting the entire kitchen? Thank you, Margaret
