new GE JVM1630 spacemaker microwave oven in manufacturer home, stopped heating, now popping, how much would it cost to have this repaired
Don't you have the guarantee certificate since it was recently purchased? Bring it back to the store where it was purchased or look for the closest GE repair center to you. Popping and sparking are usually caused by a foreign object.
the home we live in is a 80x16 mobile home (manufacturered home), the microwave was installed by Marlette Homes in Lewistown, Pa. There is only a 1 yr. warranty. We are fighting with Marlette over a broken kitchen window that is covered for 1 yr. and defective upgraded carpeting with a 5 yr. warranty. They are rude to us, said they don't stand behind their product, ie. Marlette Homes, and then hung up on us. We contacted a GE repair center, it will cost us more than what a new one would cost us. It is built in and we have no idea how to remove it to replace it. Consumer reports say the model we have has a very low approval rate.
