Renting in New York City

I am thinking of renting in New York City and I heard the prices have gone down lately in the Big Apple. Is this true? Will I finally be able to rent an apartment in New York City?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind....

Finding an apartment in NY is just a lucky gamble.  I would start looking for places on Craigslist, Facebook, and other internet sites.  Maybe I'd even get an agent to help you find some places to look at.  Decide how much you can spend and stick to it.  The prices have gone down a bit, but it's still outrageous to rent a place in NY.  Also, you can live outside of Manhattan for less, if that interests you.  Good luck.

You haven't lived until you've traveled.

I think rental prices have gone down because the value of the dollar has fallen tremendously in the last couple of months. But I wouldn't expect the dollar to continue falling. Eventually it will go back up and rental prices will go back up. So now might be a good time to find an apartment.
