Renters rights in florida

I live in Winter Park, FL (Orange County). I am renting a home with 2 other people. We have only lived there 2 months. We are on the second referigerator due to them breaking down. The second one was replaced with an old one as well. So we have lost 2x worth of food. When is it the landlords responsibility to replace the food that we are loosing since he replaces it with old appliances?

I must ask this. What is the length of time between frig openings? It seems to me that if you went into the frig at least once a day, then you would know that there was something afoot and could take action, such as getting some dry ice and an ice chest while awaiting an old frig.

And please do not think that I am defending the old skinflint of a landlord that is giving you old appliances. Check your lease. I seriously doubt that there is language in there that would force him into giving you a new one. And I do not think there is language that makes him responsible for replacing the food.

The law works but the system needs changed, We all abide by the law but sometime it failes us. The same with the goverment. God bless the USA, Brign our troops HOME safely, To the men who did not get the credit they deserve, MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR SERVICE MEN.

If i may suggest go to findalaw.com under renters rights and look at the posts and you may also go to your local library and get a book on renters rights and how the law applies in your case. And yes keep a record of what you lost and the cost of the items at that time you might be able to get reimbursed for your losses. But you should have a reasonable new refrig, For a replacement one that should last for at least 10 years as most have a life of 15+ depending on the brand.
