Can't Remember the name of a film!

Hello, right this will test you all.

Years ago I saw this film when someone possibly a child got kidnapped. Anyway the only part I can remember was the person put salt on his ketchup and the other one asked why they did that and they replied that it sticks to the chips easier that way. Something like that.

I never actually watched the film in full. I know this is a long shot but I thought someone might remember that part.

It's called "white man Burden" it was a flop, John Travolta plays this poor guy who kidnap the child of his boss who's played by harry belafonte, the whole point of the movie was that it happened in a world where black are the upper classes and whites are the underdogs. This was right after travolta did Pulp Fiction and it seem like the director tried to get him to be the same character, but nice...
