Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called CHRISTIANS first in Antioch.

You are right, Jesus did not come to begin a new religion per se, he came to provide a way of salvation.  He also came to correct the problems that Jewish religious leaders created.  They got hung up on rituals and rules.  A new religion was created with the new covenant that God gave to mankind. Salvation

I am not trying to degrade your remarks in any way, but Excommunication is a Catholic belief.  Christianity differs from Catholicism in that Christianity says we are saved by the blood of Christ and our slates are wiped clean.  Catholics say often times that they are Christian, but they believe that when a person dies they go to Purgatory to suffer in accordance to the number of sins.  I grew up in a home where I attended Christian church primarily, but also Catholic on occasion.  My mother grew up Catholic, my dad grew up Southern Baptist

I disagree, each God is different as each religion is different.  You cant reach one place on two different paths that go in opposite directions.  The Islamic God, Allah is an impersonal being whereas the Christian God is very personal.  They are not the same and thus do not reach the same place.  Christ claims to be the only way to Christ yet you claim there are many ways.  They cannot both be true.

~ The Heart is the hub of all sacred places, go there and roam ~

On the question of God being Personal OR Impersonal.. actually.. God has revealed to some... personally  : )  that there are these two ASPECTS of God.. One aspect of God IS IMpersonal, while the other aspect of God is VERY personal.  This may appear to be contradictory but  once revealed  you grasp that it is not.  Consider... The Divine ONE is Infinite Love, Infinite Knowledge and exists beyond all bounderies   The Divine ONE is truly unfathomable in ITS totality to the finite mind of man.   Peace

Thread. Some of us seem remarkably tolerant of religions that aren't christianity, which doesn't strike me as terribly rational. I'm kind of interested in seeing what people think of religion, how all is how it got into such a prominent position; the destruction of cultures, conversion
