DYK,

Your answer to Njoy #183 I have already told you that in Romans 2:15 Paul made mention of those who had not heard the gospel; that God would judge them according to the law of their conscience. We are held accountable for what we know of God's expectations and His Word. You therefore, are without excuse.

God's judgment for a lifetime of unrepented sin and the guilt that has been passed on to us for the crucifiction of His Son Jesus, obviously has been deemed by God a just punishment fitting the crime. But, as I have shared with you the LOVE of God has made a way for all mankind to escape this judgment, and you already know what that is. [John 3:16]

DidYouKnow writes:  This is great news, but not the general opinion of the general Christian.  In other words, a good person will go to your version of a heaven, no matter if they've ever heard about Jesus and the dogma.  That's good news.  Okay, that takes care of the Indians, the good Indians in the Amazon, and all good people of other faiths.  For example, a good Muslim, a good Hindu, a good Taoist, etc., will wind up with you in your version of a heaven.

Now to a thornier problem:  Let's take the little old agnostical lady down the street, the one, who all of her life, worked for the betterment of people on earth.  She did good.  She thought "good".  She put every ounce of her existence to make the earth a better place while she lived, and a better place after she was gone.  Yes, she knew "of" Christianity, but because she had a sound mind, she was skeptical.  She knew that Christianity was a product of a culture, a product of certain societies, and knew that the governing agent was to accept that which she was told about.  No questions asked.  But, because she was a thinker, because she liked to think, because she could not help but to think, she required more than just the assertions from others.  But she would have put most of the others to shame with her endeavors, her big heart, her deep concerns for all those who were alive, and those who were yet to be.

Does she go to your version of heaven?  Her conscience is clear, her heart is gold, she is a sterling individual.  What happens to her?  Paul declared that a hardened murderer, in the last waning seconds of his existence, could suddenly have an epiphany and be saved, and be bound for your version of a heaven.  It would not matter, according to Paul, that he was a pedophile who'd decapitated his victims and left them to rot in a burning desert.  He'd go to your version of a heaven, wouldn't he?  But what would happen to the little old agnostical lady?

For Njoy:  Do you truly believe in the God that is portrayed in the Bible?  Or, do you go with the rather esoteric thinking of say, a Faith?

Do you, as you read the Bible, really believe the stories are true, actually happened?  Do you subscribe to inerrancy as it applies to the Bible?

How involved, fundamentally, are you?
