Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

If my memory serves me well those topics (and relations + how to deal with) were delt in depth by D"r Barbara Bailey Reinhold: "Toxic Work".   The topic of stress was greatly delt by D"r Drahama Sing: "Brain Longevity" (He claims that stress is the worst thing to our brains (and gives an excellent proof from a research on salmon fish.....  if you want I'll elaborate).
Best regards,

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

Tnx.  I'll try to do my best.  The Salmon fish swim a very long distance (some 2500 k"m) without feeding, then they leave the salty water of the ocean to the sweet water at the river, and then they try to swim agins the stream and up the water cascades....  all in all the fish are under tremendeouse stress.  Under pressure / stress the body (of everyone) exerts an hurmone called (not sure about the name) Sorbitol.  This hormone is bad, from any aspect, inter alia: kills the navigation system, and immunity.....  So a research team decided to catch the Salmons, change their blood and see what the reaction will be.  To their surprise the researchers found that the Salmons didn't sacrifices themselves (the common thinking was that they "donate" their flash to the young fish just born) but rather went back to the ocean and came back the year after.   That prooves how devastating stress is to the brain (no 1 killer of brain cells !).
I have no idea if and how habits are connected ro stress.  However, habits control our behavior (in a sense that they put us on an "Automatic driver") and by that, indirectly, they might cause us both stress & anxiety.  In any case it might be an extremely interesting research.
Best regards, and I promise to assist you the best I can (free of charge) and since it might not interest all so you are welcome to use my private e-mail.

sounds like you are on your module 5 hypnotherapy assignment?

anyway, which relationships are being discussed? is it the relationship of treatment  of these issues via hypnotherapy? is it the relationship between the issues themselves?

there are habits that can lead to stress, anxiety and phobias. the habit(s) that lead to these, tend to be excessive substance use. (narcotics, alcohol abuse etc.)

generally speaking, stress and anxiety have a direct link. if your are experiencing a form of stress in your life for a long enough period, and/or if the stress is acute enough, then you are more than likely going to encounter some form of anxiety as a result of that stress.

anxiety itself can ironically cause further stress.

phobias can cause stress, anxiety and habits. (mr z. suffers from arachnophobia, consequently, if in the presence of a spider, mr. z starts to feel his stress levels rising. his heart rate is increasing and he begins to perspire. he can feel the fear increasing and he is suffering a shortness of breath (anxiety). the adrenaline is rushing through him (fight or flight).  as a result of this phobia)

to give a medical definition of each:

stress:

Forces from the outside world impinging on the individual. Stress is a normal part of life that can help us learn and grow. Conversely, stress can cause us significant problems.

anxiety:

a feeling of apprehension, uncertainty, and fear without apparent stimulus, associated with physiological changes (tachycardia, sweating, tremor, etc.).

Habit:

a behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition or physiological exposure that shows itself in regularity or increased facility of performance  OR an acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary.

phobia:

An unreasonable sort of fear that can cause avoidance and panic. Phobias are a relatively common type of anxiety disorder.

hope this helps! and good luck with your essay.

PS. as for treatment, well there are many ways of treating these issues (CBT, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, TFT etc. ) before treatment can commence, it is imperative that you find out the primary issue or in the case of a phobia, find the Initial Sensitising Event and address that first.

Hi,

I have just finished my thesis about stress, anxiety and resilience (in short- the mental strength to stand infront of life problems) and we know that people that are more stressed tend to be more anxious, has less self esteem and less resilient. Therefore I can say that they are more Phobic than others.

hope I helped, Ofir.
