IN 2007, somewhat over 22,000 concealed carry permits were issues. Those holding permits commit crimes at a rate of about .01% of the average. This value is even lower than with Law Enforcement. Also, errors in using said firearms have a rate, again, substantially better than LE.
Statistics show that if the victim gives in, does everything the bad guy wants, says or asks, the victim still has a 75% chance of being injured, beat up, or killed.
HOWEVER, if the victim resists in ANY WAY (righting back, running, screaming, refusing to comply, etc) their odds of NOT being injured IMPROVE by 23 to 255.
Despite 30 years of Leftist propaganda touting gun control, there has NEVER been a credible story or case that has shown gun control to be effective in ANY manner, other than removing a valuable tool from the Law Abiding.
However, study after study after study, after study have conclusively shown that the benefits of having the Law Abiding Citizen Armed outweighs the problems by orders of magnitude. It is estimated that in the hands of the legal citizens, gun are used ranging from 800,000 to 2.5 MILLION times a year to prevent crime. In 80% of the cases the gun is never fired.
