Refurbished macbooks - a good buy?

I know that for 1000, you can get a new macbook, so I guess it just depends on your financial situation.  If you want to have the feeling of security, then go for the new one.  If it seems worth it to you to save a few hundred dollars, then go for it.  I mean, the refurbs are most likely just fine.  For me, it would depend on the warranty.  If you get the same warranty on the used computer than you would on the new one, then I'd go for it.

I have to agree with Nopoli. Find out what kind of warranty is offered on the refurbished computer and see if they also have an option to extend the warranty for a small fee; if they do, it may be worthwhile to invest in a refurbished one (assuming you take the extended warranty to cover any problems you could have in the future).

I agree that most of the times it is not good going in for refurbished stuff, but when you are low on cash it makes perfect sense. I found this site that sells a lot of refurbished macbooks just in case if any one is intrested.
