I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

A:

I have been on various types of insulin since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes close to 30 years ago. There are so many factors involved when dealing with diabetes, that there must be a good reason (s) for your doctor to make this switch. There are many decisions that I make on my own on a day to day basis when it comes to dealing with my diabetes, but when it comes to changing to a different type of insulin, I will only seek the advice of my doctor. He or she knows you best and if you have other problems that have to do with your diabetes this might come into play. My advice to you is ask you doctor your question again and don't leave the office until you feel satisfied that you get the answer you want.
