Read it and weep your call. Subj: After One Month of Obama-What Have We Learned? First and foremost, he is a Socialist and intends to impose a Socialist agenda on our free enterprise democracy and make it a Socialist Democracy like France. In his speeches to date, he has repeatedly talked down the free enterprise economy and said only federal government can bring us out of the downturn. As a percentage of projected total spending in our economy in 2009, Obama's programs will amount to 39.9%-- only France will exceed us at 41.1%. France historically has tried government intervention and spending to stimulate the economy and continues to have the highest unemployment rate in Europe--in excess of 11%. Today, even Bill Clinton warned him against his continued doom and gloom on the economy, saying that the consumer will only curtail spending more and accelerate the downturn. But Obama probably sees the weakening economy as strenthening his case for even more government control and intervention in our free enterprise democracy. To accelerate this trend to socialism, he has, to date, set up government "Czars" to monitor performance of our health care, housing, automotive, and banking industries. He apparently will ignore the polls, unlike Clinton. The latest polls show 76% of us believe we are starting to rely too much on government to solve our problems. The duplicity of the man is breathtaking. He assailed Bush for "toturing" those who have vowed to kill us and denying them their rights under our law of habeas corpus. He decried warrantless wiretapping of suspected terrorists. He said Bush was threatening, therby our constitutional rights. So, he is closing the luxury campus at Guantanamo Bay, allowing them to be tried (it will take decades) in civil courts with all the due process rights that you and I enjoy, and restricting our intelligence and interrogation activities. Oh, and he will reach out to the Taliban and Al Queda terrorists because we can not solve the problem militarily and must try diplomacy--with newly appointed special ambassadors. This, of course, is not a diplomatic problem. They represent no recognized government. They are driven by a religious zeal, historically, to destroy us as infidels. So, Obama has abandoned the long held policy of not negotiating with terrorists.on the subject of constitutional and civil liberties what is he contemplating for his fellow citizens. One, elimination of the secret ballot in businesses targeted by organized labor for control by the union. Second, a challenge of your rights not to become a member of a union and be required to pay dues. The 'right to work" protected states have double the economic growth and half the unemployment rate of those states (like Michigan) that do not. But, your rights will be put aside in order to pay off the 12.8% of workers who are unionized and helped him get elected. What else? Your right to fair and equal representtation under the constitution are being threatened by his blatantly partisan move to place the control of the U.S. Census in 2010 under the White House .All The minority political action groups have long claimed tthey are undercounted and losing on average $2100 per person in government aid. They enthusiasticly hailed this move. After all, Ron Emanuel, will assure us of a fair count even though every prior head of the Census Bureau affirms that the most effective way to get a fair count is a head count canvass. But Obama and Emanuel favor adding to the head count on the assumption there is an undercount. This has a profound effect on money allocated to districts and even the number of representatives added to the Congress. All Democrats, of course. No matter this move is unprecedented, because he has a "mandate" (from 52% of the the voters) to bring "Change We Can Believe In." Again, his arrogance allows him to ignore the fact that by a 2 to 1 margin, we citizens oppose this action. He railed against the corruption in the Bush administration and promised the most ethical and & quot;transparent" administration in our nations history. What has happened in one month. Richardson withdraws his nomination to Commerce because of charges of kickbacks; Daschle withdraws his cabinet nomination due to failure to pay taxes; Geithner at Treasury (which controls the IRS) claims his childrens summer camp fees as a busuiness expense, and most egregiously fails to show that he was reimbursed by his employer for the foreign taxes he claimed as a deduction. These were "mistakes" even though he was warned about both actions by his CPA. And Obama says "he is too valuable not to confirm & quot; and the Dems unanimously approve his nomination. One other nominee withdraws over failure to pay taxes; Rep. Charles Rangel fails to pay income taxes for 3 years: Sen. Dodd  gets a sweetheart deal from Countrywide Mortgage; Sen Roland Burris is asked to resign over perjury allegations; not one Republican staffer is asked to join the Dems in drafting the "stimulus" bill. And this in one month--with more to come.?He promised in the campaign that his prorams would "create" 3.5 million new jobs in the economy. Ah, but now he says his "stimulus " bill will "save or create" 3.5 million jobs. What?" How do you possibly determine how many jobs were "saved" Are we to assume that every contractor who works on an infrastructure project has no other work to do and everyone who works on the new project will be a new hire.? And what of that "stimulus" bill. It is loaded 63% income redistribution (59 weeks unemployment comp; after-school snacks program; $25/week added unemployment comp; $13/week added food stamps; STD prevention) and pork ad infinitum.) Over 200 economists warned before the vote that it would have minimal effect on job growth because only 37% was tax decrease. And, again, the polls show 60% believe there is too much political pay off pork  in the bill. Only 49% believe it will do what Obama claims and 52% say it will have no effect on them. Will Obama's legacy be one of creating open class warfare in this country. The probability is high. He constantly cried out "tax cuts for the rich must be eliminated and they must pay their fair share." Obama's entire political history has been built on the belief that those at the bottom of the income scale are victims of societal greed. They are where they are through no fault of their own. As a wealthy society we owe them more. Not one word about people taking responsibility for their own well being. No matter that before he came to office that in 2007 (latest data), 2 trillion dollars of  revenue will be taken from the top 2 quintiles of wage earners and redirected to the bottom 3 quintiles. No matter that the top 20% of wage earners (are they all rich?) will pay 70% of all taxes, while the bottom 20% pay.6%. And this includes social security payments. And Mayor Bloomberg just announced that in the city of New York, 40,00 taxpayers paid over 50% of all taxes collected by his city of over 9 million citizens. And finally, in 2007, over 70% of our citizens will receive more government spending per capita than they pay in federal, state and local taxes. But to Obama this amount of income redistribution is totally inadequate vis a vis his just announced $275 billion dollar motgage bailout program. If you are not a "house flipper or speculator, or one who has a jumbo mortgage" and fall behind in your payments, we will pay your lender to reduce the amount of principal owed on the loan, reduce your interest rate, and guarantee that your monthly payment including insurance and taxes (PITI) will not exceed 31% of your take home pay. What a way to ensure that people take responsibility for their own behavior. Or is it, what a way to make people more dependent on the federal government and perpetuate a Democratic administration. And what goes to the 93% of homeowners who are current on their payments? Why, the satisfaction of seeing fewer for sale signs in your neighborhood. Of course, that's only important to those who might plan to sell in the next year. Or will a lot of the 93% ask where is the payoff for being responsible managers of your own destiny. Where is the motivation in the Obama America for being self reliant if bad behavior is so riichly rewarded. Obama says he only intends to help those "who through no fault of their own" see their house value below their mortgage and find it impossible to continue the same monthly payment. These same people gloried in the appreciation they enjoyed in their house by tapping out their home equity loan, and now that the house has come back in value to a more reasonable level,. they expect their neighbors, (no, according to ACORN "demand")  bail them out. And to top it off, if after this largese you stay current on your payments we will give you $1,000 of your neighbors money per year. Mr. Obama, are you listening to the outcry? Is class warfare increasing" Is this finally the proverbial straw that---? D J Jenkins takes sole responsibility for these thoughts put down in frustration and deep concern for the future of his seven grandsons if Obama's vision for America persists beyond one term. Tippy are you convinced yet.
