To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

I am very pleased that Obama won. I even more pleased that Sarah Palin lives in Alaska. The further away she is from Washington, the better for America and the rest of the world. What were the Republicans thinking?

Just like everywhere else in the world, Israel has a broad political spectrum. There is much diappointment over some of Bush's policies and actions, and there is a lot of enthusiasm about the possibility of change and progress.

Some of Obama's political leanings may indeed be scary, particularly to those of us who are not convinced that a "2-state solution" will bring peace or even a cease-fire to the area.

However, Israelis are tired of war and many are very hopeful that a new American president will bring the potential for peace.
