Re-coloring wall tile grout.

Is there a way I can change the color of the grout between the tiles on my bathroom walls (NOT shower walls)? The old grout is white and I'd like it to be charcoal or black without having to go to the trouble of removing the grout and re-doing it. Can it be successfully dyed or painted?

If you have glazed tile, believe it or not you can dye the grout.  It won't be perfect because the grout will absorb the dye a little non-uniformely.  Make sure you use a water proof dye.  You might even be able to use a marking pen.  Try it behind your toilet to see what you think first.

Thanks very much!  I'll give it a try....
