I have a little concern about the Strawberry cheesecake recipe using an egg yolk in the cheese mixture that is not cooked or baked, only refrigerated. Could you please address the possible Salmonella involvement for this?

Bla1228, Any cheese cake recipe that calls for an egg is supposed to be baked before eating. It is not a no bake cake. Are you sure you have the whole recipe? I wouldn't eat anything with a raw egg in it if it hasn't been cooked in some manner. There are tons of strawberry cheese cake recipes on the web. Find a better one. Better to be safe than sorry.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
Anna's Mom is wrong. I've been making a no-bake cheesecake that uses eggs for years. It's a risk, but I've always liked to live dangerously.
You could check this website to see if there's a store near you that sells pastuerized eggs www.safeeggs.com/consumers/store-locator.html
Earls brain, I am not wrong. Just because YOU like to take risks with uncooked eggs, does not make my reply incorrect. Raw eggs can cause samonella. Therefore it is not safe to eat them raw. You can take all the risks you want, but please don't be endangering others.
