Raising Children and Video Games

Is it morally wrong if a parent has allowed their child (13) to play Xbox for 40-50 hours a week while ignoring the education and socialization processes that are important for that child?  Could we possibly say this is ignorance to the importance of parenting instead of a moral issue?

6 of 1, and a half dozen of the other here.  Too many different ways of cataloging sins to assess one as greater than the other.  Especially in a world where the simplest of truths is essentially supercomplicated  to ignore the core issue.  Fresh coat of white wash anyone?

I don't know what kind of wrong it is, just that it is wrong, this child will not know how to be in an enviroment without a video game, and lose alot of knowledge of everything besides the video game.

Ok, 40-50 hours is excessive, but look on the bright side; The hand eye coordination learned in video games has prepared this child for the world or the army.

Most parents don't mind their kids playing video games because it keeps them busy and keeps them from "bothering" the parents. This is sad. However, if the child gets good grades and stays out of trouble, then he should be allowed to do whatever he wants.

Yeah, so a parent simply play xbox. It's always been that way and it always will likely enough stay that way, too
