Who was Rahel?

Who was Rahel? All I know about her is that she wrote some songs in Hebrew. But I don't know anything else about her and I want to know more.

Rachel, a sad romantic poet, a tragic figure who was involved in  an impossible relationship with Zalman Shazar ( who was married and later became the Prisident of Israel)

Originally Rahel was one of the ancestrial mothers of the jewish people - in the bible. She was married to Jacob (who was later renamed Israel) and gave him the sons of Josef and Bejamin. Before Jacob was allowed to marry rahel, her father made him marry her older sister Leah.
