RSS Feed

What is this RSS Feed. It keeps popping up in some of the websites I go to including this one. Is it a program that is already installed in my computer? How do I use it and for what?

RSS feeds are a good way to keep up with information without having to visit web sites frequently. The information from a bunch of different sites are sent to your RSS reader and you can see them at all in one place. 

Wikipedia has a good article that explains RSS. You probably do have something on your computer that can use RSS feeds if your system is relatively recent. If not, the article links to web-based readers and some that you can download and install locally.

RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything! Often information contained in an RSS feed is syndicated on other sites which expands its reach.

Website visitors love RSS because they choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhapy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive notification of feed updates.

RSS is really a win, win for both subscribers and publishers.

In order to get a better understanding of how RSS works download an RSS reader or use a web aggregator and subscribe to an RSS feed (they are usually indicated by a small orange icon).

"Really Simple Syndication" is used to feed your updated  entries such  as articles, blogs and social bookmarks in an xml standardized format.  and i'm even using it to feed my brother's Philippines BPO service provider provider blog
