God is love
Well, Nathan, what you said about emotions could be right somewhat.. but not all the time. We love by our minds and hearts. And there are some things that only love can do!!! So emotions are powerfull as well ;-)
By the way, I love your new screen name!

Livin in a small, backwoods, country, Southern town that's deep in a holler is like bein in Heaven.
You know, my family would hate the fact that ever since becoming a Christian....I've also become more emotional. Read Proverbs and Song of Songs (which made me nearly cry because it's so sweet). My fiance (Jessica) noticed that and kept asking me what was wrong. It's like God has freed everything. It's true you know: "Whomever that Son sets free is free indeed". Not sure where that quote comes from but it's true.

The funny thing about God's gifts is that within a day or two, He teaches me how to use them. Paul used to perscute the Church??? Besides Jesus, Paul is one of the people that I look upto the most from the New Testament because he's so logical. Guess I haven't read that part of his life. What book is it in? The only books from the New Testament that I haven't read in the past few days are: Acts and Revelation.

You can find Paul's story in Acts. Yes, he was logical, but he was emotional too! haha.. you can find that sometimes in his letters. Maybe not too emotional, but he really loved people so much and loved God and felt His love deeply and he would just express that in a wonderful way. Some people live by heart only, some live by mind only. I think they just should go side by side and when it's time to use one of them more, we'll know.
I'm happy that Jessica started to notice the difference in you. And I hope she'll experience this change persoanally too.
God bless you, brother :)

Be Blessed.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.
Hi Nathan,
What you are experiencing now, is a transformation from death unto eternal life through Jesus our savior. Your sins have been forgiven and you are now being washed in the blood of Jesus. This is just a cleansing process that every born again christian goes through.
I remember when I became saved, you never forget that feeling as long as you live. It would be a good idea to write down the day, month and year that you accepted Jesus and he washed away your sins. I like to reflect back sometimes on what I call my day of salvation.
Oh! The verse you recited can be found in John 8:36; If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Be Blessed.

Jessica is the reason that I started to go to church in the first place. I wanted to impress her by how sensitive I was to her beliefs. I'm glad that the change in me is noticeable to other people.

Hi Nathan,
Read Acts of the Apostles Chapter 9, it will tell you all about how Saul (Now called Paul) persecuted the church until he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. He also went through a conversion and was given a new name Paul.
Stay on fire for the Lord.

I hope that I never get accustomed to knowing scripture without reading it. Here's another quote for you and what I think that it means: "You shall strike his heel and he shall crush your head" I think that refers to two people: 1) Jesus Himself and 2) Christians...meaning that while he (Satan) may only cause us minor, temporary pain...we have the power to twart all his plans if we choose to use it (sadly, most Christians don't know that they have that power and "nigotiate" with him instead of crushing him into total submission and sending him (Satan) looking for a deep hole to hide in). Wouldn't you agree
