Questioning-whatever-I-am

I'm so confused trying to answer the question of whether or not God exists for myself. I can't logically answer that and need some help coming to peace with that uncertainty. Can you help me?

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Hi Nathan,

I am so glad you came to the realization that God exists. The only way to experience a total relationship and the inner peace you are looking for, is through his son Jesus Christ. He sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us in order to restore our (man's) relationship with him. The bible tells us there is no other way, whereby we may be saved.

There is no formal way to approach Jesus. He looks directly at the heart. The bible says that if you believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and confess with your mouth that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. Once a person becomes saved, they experience total peace and joy. When you talk to him be honest and confess the things that are in your heart, you will be surprised at the changes that will come about in your life.

The prayer below is a stepping stone in case you are lost for words. When you pray it, just be sincere and mean it from your heart.

Jesus, I know I am a sinner and can't save myself. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin. I receive you as my savior and Lord. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be.

The next step would be to study your bible. The bible tells us to study to show ourselves approved. There is strength in the word of God. It is food for the soul. Another good reason to study, is that no one can deceive you, because you have first hand knowledge of the word for yourself.  Plus you will learn the history of creation and the power of our God. Find yourself a bible believing church where you can worship, grow and fellowship with other believers. God will do the rest. Your life will never be the same again. I know mine wasn't, thanks be to God!

I love you my brother. Be Blessed in the Lord.

Oh, okay, now I understand what you meant by being the boday of Christ. Thanks for being logical about it. I have a hard time comprehending things that are either illigical or are expressed in an illogical manner.

I tried praying that prayer without getting emotional and failed. I did pray it but was almost in tears before I finished it. I feel........renewed.......complete for the first time in my entire life......like I can face the devil face to face and resist him.....healed..........wow........at.......peace. Never felt like this before. Thank you so much for telling me what to say because I didn't know what to tell God. I also feel whole. Been going to church for years for entertainment...now I can't wait until Sunday to go for the right reason. Will this feeling I have right now ever go away? I certainly hope not (okay the tears can). As soon as I prayed that prayer, I felt my cold hard heart get set of fire (not painful, but, full of love for not only those colse to me...but for every person on this planet especially those who are despised by the rest of the world and ignored...the homeless and the poorest of the poor). I have hope for the first time in my life. CrySmile Can't decide on whether to laugh and run around from the pure joy of this feeling or cry from it.

It's hard for me to get my mind around the fact that God gave me a (what is it...spiritual?) gift before I accepted that he exists. Now I not only know that God exists but just a few moments ago accepted his son just based on what I've read here. I finally have.....total peace and something else........joy? This feeling is incredible and I wish that everyone on Earth would find the only way to truly have this feeling and it be genuine. Oh,WOW!!! Of all the highs (all of them natural) that I've had in my life.....this is the GREATEST. WOW. I want to use this gift against the devil and his cohorts as often as I can.

Hey Tippy---

I made my decision. Can't call me Agnostic any longer and someone put a prayer on here and I prayed it too. I'm all in. In God's army (the winning side...for me anyway) now. Yippee!!!

Mrankens,

A couple of things. First, please don't call me Agnostic (that doesn't apply any longer), call me by my name: Nathan. Second: I had a statement pop into my head from nowhere and I don't know where it came from because I wasn't thinking at all. The statement is: "Seek and you will find, ask and you will recieve, knock and it will be opened for you". I sought and found what I was looking for because I sought it looking for the truth and with an honest heart...like a child. Can you tell me where that quote comes from if you've heard it before? I've never heard it before it popped into my head. Think that quote came straight from God himself.

Hey Nathan,

I can't tell you how much I am happy for you. I couldn't resist tears when I read about how you prayed and recieved Jesus and the peace you felt. There's nothing in the world better than seeing someone coming to the Father! Congratulations for you, brother. Enjoy it!

I understand you're a person who goes by logic all the time! But it's ok to set your feelings free too!!! With God, you just need to be so open with your heart and mind. He gave us them both, so we need to use them both, especially with Him.

The statement you mentioned is a Biblical verse. You can find it in Matthew 7:7 and Luke 11:9.
