Questioning-whatever-I-am

I'm so confused trying to answer the question of whether or not God exists for myself. I can't logically answer that and need some help coming to peace with that uncertainty. Can you help me?

Awesome question!  The only way I can truthfully answer you is to tell you that faith in God / or to not have faith in God is just that, 'Faith'.  Faith there is/ Faith there isn't.. right?  It's a free-will decision we each have to make for ourselves and stand by it with complete conviction!

Do you know that even Darwin, (the king of science and evelution), before he died admitted that he believed in God?

This is what I tell anyone who asks me similure questions about my faith;..  "What do you have to lose in believing in a forgiving, loving, Heavenly Father who wants to reward His People with a Paradise Earth??  It's better to Believe and have the promise of His better day for us, than to not believe and have been wrong!"  (as we all know, by then, it will be too late to change our mind)

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

We can't answer many questions about the universe we live in, why do we think that we can decide how it came into being....

As a Humanist, I concern myself with the here and now, and the future of our planet and especially our species.  You may find some peace in being active in your community or a least in your family's well-being.  Live as if this was all there is, and let the future unfold as it should.  Check out spiritualhumanism.com

Please tell me more about Humanism. The idea of living for the hear and now resonates deeply with me because I live every day like it's my last day...one day it's going to be my last day so the way that I see it I should do everything I can now to keep from having to lay on my death bed and have a lot of regrets. You can reach me at nathancameronm@aol.com with that information.

Thanks;

Nathan

If you can't see God or hear his voice talking to you....how can you be sure that he's even real? Gotta believe in what you can see, touch, smell, hear, and taste. Everything else is nothing more than just legends and morality stories. Besides, if a man claims to be God (or even the son of God) today you wouldn't worship him, you'd call the Police to have him comitted to a mental hospital, yet people worship a man that lived and died 2000 years ago who claimed to be just that. So why not form a religion around all the crazy men who make the same claims???

I want to believe that there is a God. I really do but I want proof. No, I need proof. Scientific proof....something that I can't argue with. I can always say that the Universe has always been here and that science has proven that the Earth is billions of years old so that argument is out the window because only I can use science to prove my idea about the age of the Earth...the Universe is only a theory for both of us. If you can proove that God exists I'll be happy to serve him if he's as loving as you say he is. Smile

AgnosticAmerican,

After reading your reply, I began to think about my previous answer to you. I decided to respond back to you in more biblical terms because like you said, one day when you lie down for the last time, I don't want your destiny to be on my hands. I would like to share some verses from the holy scriptures with you. After that you can draw your own conclusions, but at least my conscience will be clear.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwok. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

Romans 2:19-21 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things, that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful;but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I Thessalonians 5:2-3  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a theif in the night. For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The bible tells us that every creature that God made knows God in some form or the other. They may not worship him but there is something on the inside that knows God. Even an atheist when they encounter danger yells God or Lord help me. Why is that? Romans 2:19 tells use that because all of creation knows him and that there is no excuse. When your time is up, you cannot tell God that I didn't know because he is clearly seen in his creation. The earth did not get here by an atomic blast, Look at the animals (Zebras, Tigers, Lions, peacocks), these are the handiworks of God's hand. Look how carefully painted and sculptured they are.

You told Eileen that you did not want to lay on your death bed and have any regrets about things that you didn't do in life, but wouldn't it be a shame to die without Christ and regret that you did not make the right choice, while you were living. What a sad day that would be, and even worst is the fact the you can't take it back. You can't start over. The bible says that every man will give an account of the things done in his body.

The Bible says to choice you this day who you will serve, will it be God or Man.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The choice is yours to make. God is real!!!!!

Be Blessed.
