QUARDA BENEFITS Lost with Nothing

"Quarda "benefits I am divorced an was told by our judge to apply for the above benefits. My x was in the military and worked full time for the Federal Goverment out of R.I.....We have been divorced since 2000....I was told by my lawyer, at the time, that it would cost $ 1,800...I have, since 2003 been on SS...I have nothing...what can I do and were do I start?

Are you certain the Judge did not say, "QDRO?"

QDRO stands for Qualified Domestic Relationship Order; it is a specific legal document which divides pension/retirement, IRA, 401K and similar types of benefits.

You might ask an attorney to review your final Judgment documents to see exactly what you were awarded and how to go about obtaining it.
