Purpose in life

What is your purpose in life?  (I feel that everyone has a purpose or role in the world -- though it may be hard to identify what it is.  I've been trying to answer this question in my own life.  I'm hoping to get some inspiration.)

To make the world a better place. But I think this answer would be a very common one, and the ways to make it a better place are so many, that it's a bit meaningless actually.

To love and serve God; to love all of God's creatures; to be a good steward of our talents and abilities.

Willing to meet intellectuals

The Almighty has chosen you, and every other person for
a particular purpose. The aim of life is to understand
the greatness of the creator. And to search for the
purpose for which a soul is given human life. This
purpose differs from person to person because it is
dependent on the past Karma of the soul. It is as
different as our finger prints, no two are alike. But
one thing is sure. Human beings are the highest of all
creation. The rest of the creation is intended for the
use of human beings. All people are expected to enjoy
the creation. Since creation itself is divine, all
people are expected to keep their lives as happily as
possible without interference with others.

Searching to find the purpose of life is a life time task.

When you understand the purpose of your life, then you
will derive the highest happiness of your life.

Congratulations ! The first step is to realize that there is a purpose .

Who am I , Where did I come from and where am I going ? These are not knew questions . They are the questions that have motivated people from the beginning of time . Many books : Bibles and philososphical ones are still being written about these very matters . Unfortunately the answer does exist in books or words . Books and words are like directionals or foot prints of those who've gone before us . The answer is in the realm of experience .

In fact what you are looking for , is also looking for you ! It lives within , inside you and has been there all along . Call it what you will , the words came after the  experience .

All the great words left to us tell us the same thing and here are a few :

" Self - knowledge is the best form of knowledge : through it one attains immortality." - The Upanishads 1500 B.C.

" Wherever you go , go with all your heart ." - Confucious - 500 B.C.

" For where your treasure is , there also will be your heart ." - Luke 100 A.D

" Gamble everything for love , if you are a true human being ." - Rumi 1200

" Only in the heart can one experience the divine prescence of truth." - Kabir 1300

" We are put on this earth a little space , so that we can learn to endure the beams of love ." - William Blake 1800

" Life is a voyage that is homeward bound."- Herman Melville 1840

" I have walked the earth for thirty years and , out of gratitude , want to leave some souvenier ." - Vincent Van Gogh  1850

" Your vision will become clear , only when , you look into your heart . Who looks outside , dreams ; who looks within , awakens ." - Carl Jung 1900

" What is essential , is invisible to the eye. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly ." Antione St. Exupery 1930

" Love is wisdoms' law on earth ." - Ingmar Bergman 1950

" All journeys will end someday . Find the journey within and you may journey forever . " - Pren Rawat ( Maharaji ) 1999

The question is complicated but the answer is simple .

Your question IS a very valid one and there is an answer , a very simple one , too .Good Luck Laughing
