Purpose in Life...

Is it possible to find out what your purpose in life is? After you've completed that purpose, is that when God calls you home?

A baby is God's opinion that life should go on

Sandburg, Carl

It's a very complicated question. You draw a clear line between the purpose you set for yourself and the purpose God put you on this Earth, and I think they are not alway so detached from each other. Your presence here comprises inevitably a myriad of ideas and goals. You interact with others, you influence them and allow them to influence you. The Grand Scheme is more complicated than one person fulfilling one purpose and that's it...

God's purpose for your life is usually many faceted and extends for many years. We know His purpose for everyone is to share His love and to share our knowledge of Him with others. As He is all-knowing and all-powerful, we can be pretty sure that we are positioned NOW to accomplish our purpose and that we are equipped NOW to make it happen.

So beware of thinking you are waiting for God to act. He is always waiting for US to act, so he may bless our paths.

Our purpose is to return the love of our Creator to Him.

"But I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, 'You are my God! My future is in your hands.'" Ps. 31:14-15

First of all, your main purpose is to follow and love God. Second, EVERYONE has a part to play in this world..or being apart of the "Body of Christ" as people say. You could be his mouth(preacher/evangelist) or his arms(helping the poor, caring for people) his voice, his feet. Theres something that you can do that fits into that categorie. But finding it is by asking God to reveal it to you by opening up doors that he wants you to venture in, or closing ones he wants you to take no part in. Its mad cool:)

Why not ask God as the source of life (Psalm 36:9)? We are spoken to through the Bible and Almighty God had faithful men pen his thoughts in a way we can understand. We are here to learn about God and to do his will. The Bible says: "The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole obligation of man."—Ecclesiastes 12:13.  Our being here to learn about God and do his will has wonderful and profound implications but first, we need to go back to the beginning (of creation) to read in Genesis why man was created and how this original plan will come to be. Once you get a clear picture from the Bible, you will see our purpose will continue here on earth (Psalm 37:11, 29 & John 3:16).
