Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great summer ...

CoolHi everyone! I hope everyone had a great summer and an even better 2009 growing season! Sorry to say I followed my local nursery' advice of lying down organic soil in my growing "box" in early may, to get the soil ready for planting? It sounded good to me. In addition, I picked out many of the hearty tomato plants, like "big boy" plants. My wood planting boxes get plenty of sun in the Summer months. We also have a sprinkler system for our huge garden. The result was a complete disaster! I think I had 7 plants all together. Our harvest with very minimal and the fruit just came out weird looking;crazy shapes, midget(or should I call a tomato "vertically challenged??) and yellowish! I must have done something monumentally WRONG! My mom who used to be an avid gardener had some advice. She said that I needed to add diapers, to the bed of my tomatoes(YUCK)? Or add chemicals to help them grow? HELLLLPPPPP!

All my best,

James~
