Is it true that Obama's wife said it was the first time she was proud to be an American after her husband won the nomination?
Yes it is true and Obama caught "flack" for it. Said her words were taken out of context. If it is a "black" thing then she should have been proud when Shirley Chisholm ran in 1972. she was not only black but a woman too. People forget that.
Those are my thoughts. I welcome yours.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
Yes, she did say that.
It is only one of the 'mis-speaks' that Michelle had during the primary season.
Since this one, however, her public speaking was greatly curtailed.

No, it was several months ago, after the first couple of primaries, when he became a serious contender. I guess his being a senator wasn't enough to make her proud of our country.
Even if his being a senator wasn't enough to make her proud to be in this country, and I like that one, that's not good either. Now Hillary seems to think we should vote for Obama. I don't think he'll choose her as vice president but she's sticking behind Democrat's I guess. Being an independent, I will perhaps vote McCain or get so disgusted and not vote at all. Is this even a democracy anymore when those superdelegates have most of the say. Is our voting just a joke?
There is an old saying, "if voting could change anything, it wouldn't be legal."
Mayagoose, your passion is obvious.
PLEASE vote!
I have dear friends who died so we can be free and vote.
It is OUR fault the political cabinet is so bare. We are such an apathetic nation it is frightening.
Don't be one of 'them'. Take your passion and vote!
Be honest and be true to yourself.
