Professional term for an empty mine?

What is the professional term used to describe a mine after it has been depleted of all of its natural resources and abandoned? When a well is empty, it is said to be dry. What do they say for a mine?

Are you giving Mr. J the coal shoulder?

Perhaps we could join together and form a coalition to investigate this problem.

There was a time when I believed my mine belonged to me
But now I know my mind is faded to a memory
The more I learn to dig for ore, the more I fall apart
Why can't I dig your mother load and smelt your coal coal heart

I found actual societies devoted to the reclamation of Abandoned Mines.  If there is another term, I was unable to find it.

I wish I was able to apply makeup with the skill you do, Mr. Jqna.  It looks flawless and natural.  Nobody would even know you were wearing any.

Mr. Jqna,  It is called a shelter for homeless bats.  Bats love living in abandoned mines.  It also could be called coalless, as in no more coal.
