Problem in Google Browser Sync Extension for firefox

I'm using the Google Browser Sync Extension for firefox.

I have 2 machine. In one machine it works and in the second I already get the error: "Error '51 Request timeout' occurred while syncing, please try again later."

Do anyone have a solution for this?

This is due to a timeout on the upload operation. You will need to change the configured timeout value:

  • Go to Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Mozilla\FireFox\Profiles
  • You will see a folder named unique-string.DEFAULT - open it
  • Open the extensions folder
  • Locate the Google Browser Sync extension folder
  • Open the file browserstate.js
  • Search for UPDATE_TIMEOUT and change its valuee.
I hope this helps!

To fix this problem you should go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[some code].default\extensions\browserstate@google.com\lib\

and edit the browserstate.js file as the following:

Set the value for Change the CLB_Updater.UPDATE_TIMEOUT=60000 to to 200000 or more.

Yup... it's a bug we noticed a couple of days ago, it should be fixed in the next refresh (e.g. today).

It happens when you use the "I found the answer" button. Your post is saved, but does not show on the question blog.

Check back this space in a few hours, your post should do a come-back right about here Smile
