First and most important is where you lock your bike, my strategy is exposed - in a place where people pass all day and your bike are visible. The place should be lit at night, or even better at night keep your bike at home.
If you have a quick-release front wheel it is best to lock the frame and the front wheel together to something strong, Otherwise lock the frame (seat tube) and the rear wheel to something.
Woven steel cables are considered worst locks you had better use a good U-Lock or a heavy-duty chain lock.
