Prenatal Vitamins ?

I plan to start a family. I s it a good idea to start taking prenatal vitamins instead of the regular one a day vitamins that i take, now itself? can u suggest some otc prenatals? i am new to this place and there are no obgyn available closeby.. help..

General multivitamins are fine, as long as they contain folic acid - if not, you can take the folic acid separately as well. The dosage is 400mcg.

It will be wise to start taking multivitamins ahead of the pregnancy, since the  nerve system starts to develop in the first three weeks ( which is the time we are not aware of the pregnancy).

the best choice would be to take multivitamin for pregnant women, because the dosage of each mineral and vitamin is the correct one. Most of the dietary supplement companies offer such multivitamins which you can find in every health food shop and most pharmacies.

Farther more I suggest you take Omega 3 supplement which is good for the fetus's nerve system development and for preventing early labor, in some cases. 

Have a healthy good pregnancy.

I am new to where I stay now and have no obgyn that i know. Is it ok for me to just pick any prenatal vitamins? or should I simply stick to the regular multivitamins that i have been taking for a year?(one a day woman).. please let me know. If you could think of any prenatal vitamin in specific pls let me know that would be great..
