I am really confused. I am 29 years old and been with my boyfriend for 10 years. We are living together and are happy, and so in a way we are like married anyway. However there has been some unexpected things happen. I have found out I am pregnant and told him we need to get married. I am indian and it is frowned upon to be single and have a baby or not be married. So I told him we have to get married - he agreed totally. We put down £3000 for a deposit on our wedding venue - it was for civil ceremony and reception. So it was all ready for next month. Then just after he goes he doesnt want a civil ceremony. The reason is because he feels that if we live as single people - we can get money off the government, especially coz im pregnant and a baby is due. I say I am pregnant make a honest woman out of me. He is saying that he only saying all this for our future and the childs future. I am so confused - he says that he not going to leave me - he been with me for 10 years. He says he just wants our lives to be little easy - and then in around 2 years we can get a registry marriage. I just dont know - but I do know that I cannot have the baby if I leave him. I just really dont know. To me I say have the baby - get registry marriage and then work hard and live a honest life to provide a best life for us. He says basically he get a house and I live as single mum and claim for me and the baby - so I get money. My parents hate this idea and are not happy. Really have been upset for days. I tried talking to his mum - but they from different background - she said everyone does it. I dont think you should say that - I think you should be honest. I dont know - what shall I do. Please help advise me.
