Predatory Lending missing from CNN
While watching you on CNN this morning you made a statement that seemed a little crass and perhaps uninformed. You stated that the people in trouble with their mortgages should not have purchased their homes because they should have known they could not afford them. Though I am sure that was the situation in a number of cases, you seemed to dismiss the fact that a number of these people were the victims of predatory lending practices. Hasn't is been shown that many of these lenders misled potential home buyers in order to collect their fees then bumdle and sell these liar loans for huge profits? I enjoyed your positive message regarding the mortgage catastrophe, however you seemed to put too much of the blame on those unsuspecting folks who could't afford the American dream but were convinced otherwise by lenders who knew better. Hopefully, next time you guys could spread the blame a little. Sincerely, Rick Stratford American Canyon, CA Sincerely
